About the White-throated Needletail

Reputedly the fastest bird in level flight, clocked near 112 km/h. Spends nearly its entire life airborne, landing only to nest in tree hollows. Breeds in Siberia and winters in Australia. Glides along storm fronts to feed on insects swept aloft.
