Magnificent Frigatebird

About the Magnificent Frigatebird

Males inflate scarlet throat pouches into balloon-like sails for courtship. Has the greatest wingspan to weight ratio of any bird. Cannot land on water because feathers lack waterproofing, so snatches prey from the surface. Famous for chasing other birds until they drop their catch.
