Northern Gannet

About the Northern Gannet

Plunges from 30 meters at 100 km/h, hitting the water like a feathered torpedo. Air sacs under the skin cushion the impact. Nests in dense cliff colonies of tens of thousands. Pairs for life, greeting each other with fencing bills and bowed heads.
