Great Egret

About the Great Egret

A symbol of the National Audubon Society, founded to stop the slaughter for plumes. Lacy breeding feathers nearly drove the species extinct during the hat trade era. Hunts by standing statue-still, then spearing prey. Found across every continent except Antarctica.
