About the Giant Hummingbird
The largest hummingbird, over ten times heavier than the Bee Hummingbird. Wings beat far more slowly than smaller relatives, around 12 times per second. Lives at altitudes up to 4,600 meters in the Andes. Often perches prominently on dead branches, unusual for hummingbirds.
