Black-necked Stilt

About the Black-necked Stilt

Instantly recognizable by impossibly long pink legs, proportionally the longest of any bird. Wades in water far deeper than most shorebirds dare. Performs broken-wing displays to lure predators from the nest. Chicks swim within hours.
