About the Belted Kingfisher
A powder-blue bolt of a bird with a ragged crest and oversized bill. Hovers before plunge-diving for fish. Nests are tunnels up to 2 meters deep dug into earthen banks. Females outshine males with a rust belt and flanks, rare among birds.
