About the Barn Swallow
The most widespread swallow on Earth, breeding across six continents. Forked tails stream behind acrobatic flight. Nearly all now nest on human structures, from barn beams to bridges. Killing a swallow was once thought to bring bad luck to cattle. Chicks fledge in under three weeks.
